Wednesday Webinar: Pediatric Safe Sleep: Best Practices for Families and Caregivers
Sleep-related deaths remain one of the leading causes of death during infancy. Many of these tragedies are associated with unsafe sleep environments, such as bed-sharing, sleeping on couches or adult beds, side or stomach sleeping positions, and the presence of pillows, blankets, or other soft objects in the sleep space. CGCH Injury Prevention Coordinator Julianna Schmitz will share current sleep recommendations to keep even the youngest patients sleeping safely.
Description
Participants will learn current safe sleep recommendations, risk factors for sleep-related infant deaths, and practical strategies to reduce preventable injuries and fatalities. The session will also cover the ABCs of safe sleep (Alone, on their Back, and in a Crib), common misconceptions, and resources to support families in promoting safe sleep practices.
