The PACTS for LIFE®/PALS program provides those involved in the care of children a concise, up-to-date and practical approach to emergency resuscitation. The Pediatric Advanced Cardiac and Trauma Support for Life (PACTS for Life®) program at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center focuses on the clinical recognition of respiratory failure or shock in the pediatric patient and the current recommended treatments. The contents of this program also includes a variety of lectures presented by pediatric experts in such fields as trauma, toxicology, neurology, non-accidental trauma and newborn resuscitation. This program combined with the traditional American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) curriculum provides an enhanced learning experience for all health care providers. This class offers opportunities to practice rhythm disturbance recognition and treatments, IV/IO medication administration, advanced airway management including: tracheostomies, Basic Life Support (BLS) skills through demonstration, hands-on practice, scenarios and simulation
